Eat this Burrata Toast as a light meal or a snack. It’s quick and simple to throw together with a great sweet and salty flavor.
This Burrata Toast with Pistachios and Honey is one of the more simple recipe on my blog. But we love simple, don’t we? I start by spreading roasted garlic oil or roasted garlic butter onto my bread for extra flavor. Then I toast or grill it to perfection. I top it with deliciously creamy burrata, a drizzle of honey, toasted pistachios, flaky sea salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
A friend of mine went out to a restaurant and ate something very similar to this recipe. She told me about it and I thought it sounded too delicious not to create and share. When I made it and took my first bite of creamy crispy salty sweet goodness, I was so thankful for my friend giving me this idea.
Ingredient Notes:
- Toast – I love sourdough for this burrata toast, and these days you can find amazing gluten-free sourdough bread. If you live in Los Angeles, I’d recommend the sourdough from Gjusta. If you live in LA or New York, try the gluten-free sourdough from Modern Bread & Bagel. But, if you don’t live in either city, that’s okay too. Try ordering Schar’s on Amazon. I like to toast or grill my bread for this recipe, and I’ll first smear on some roasted garlic oil (that I make myself by roasting garlic in olive oil until golden) or garlic herb butter.
- Burrata – I like using burrata for the creaminess inside. But if you can’t find burrata, you can use fresh mozzarella or even ricotta. It won’t be the same, but still good.
- Honey – I like honey here, but you can also use agave.
- Pistachios – If you don’t have pistachios, another good choice would be pine nuts, which are also very buttery.
- Flaky Sea Salt – I use good ole Maldon.
